Inspirations for The War Devil

October 16, 2024 | Filed under: Writing

With the first book of the Spirit Tamer series out on Amazon, I reflect on how it got to this point and how it relates to other books.

Developing a puzzle game over a weekend

January 8, 2021 | Filed under: Game Dev, General Development

Back in mid-July I set out to make a quick game in Unity. I didn’t have any sort of plan, other than to try to learn the basic’s for the engine, and develop a simple game. I consider a basic game to have Win/Lose Conditions at the very least. With …

Animation Diary: Fusion Battery

October 23, 2020 | Filed under: Animation, Spirit Tamer

NOTE: This post was originally written October 2015. Originally I was holding onto it while I continued with the larger project, but I have since refined the focus of that project to where this scene has been cut. Posting this now for posterity. I’ve been working steadily towards making an …

Something Old. Something New.

October 16, 2020 | Filed under: Blog

It’s been over five years since I last updated this website. I think it would be an understatement to say a lot has happened between then and now. When I first started this blog, I only wanted to focus solely on the process of animating, game development, and the creative …

Thoughts on Paprika

July 31, 2015 | Filed under: Reading Corner

Just a heads up, this post will probably have spoilers, so if you plan on reading the book or watching the movie then go ahead and check those out first. I’m just sharing my thoughts after finishing both. So I watched the movie Paprika and instantly fell in love with …

Adding unpredictible elements to a scene

July 24, 2015 | Filed under: Challenges, Writing

A particular exercise I sometimes do when I’m writing is to add an unpredictable element to a scene. What I mean by that is I introduce an element such as a card game and instead of going about a cliche set of expected outcomes I establish a basic goal the …

Thoughts on ‘Chasm’

July 17, 2015 | Filed under: Animation, Mico

‘Chasm’ was an animation project I spent about three months developing. The overall project was to plan out a more longer animation compared to my previous animations and to see how long it would take. And while end results was successful, and while I was happy at the work I …

This week for Lost Echo's, I added a wrench as a melee weapon, along with attack, idle, walk/run, and defense animations.

I've been working on "secret stuff" for Lost Echo's lately, but this week I concentrated on creating the Storage Room. See a preview of its current look below. I'll likely add more clutter and the next pickup item soon.

Finally got jump-scared by my own horror game. I guess it was a matter of time.

Still quietly working on secret aspects of Lost Echo's.

I feel like I need to commission someone to help model animals and people. That kind of modeling and rigging feels beyond my knowledge. Alternatively, I could spend a month or two learning it.
